A 75-inch TV’s screen is 65.4 in wide and 36.8 in tall (166 × 93 cm). The TV itself is a little bigger: the three 75-inch models below are 65¾ to 66 in wide and 37½ to 38 in tall, 1 to 3 in deep, and 40 to 40¾ in tall on their stands. Plan for about 66¼ × 38 in of wall, just over 5½ feet across.
75-inch TV screen size
The 75 is the diagonal of the picture. On the 16:9 screen every 4K TV uses, that works out to 65.4 in across and 36.8 in up, 0.87 and 0.49 × the diagonal. How to measure TV size shows how to check a TV you already own.

Real 75-inch TVs, frame and stand included
Here are three current 75-inch TVs as their makers list them:
| TV | W × H, no stand | Height on its stand | Stand depth | Stand footprint | Weight, no stand | VESA, mm |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Neo QLED QN90F (QN75QN90F) | 65¾ × 37¾ in, 1 in deep | 40 in | 11¾ in | 16½ in wide | 75 lb | 400 × 400 |
| LG QNED85 (75QNED85AUA) | 66 × 38 in, 1¼ in deep | 40¾ in | 14¼ in | 53 in wide | 73 lb | 400 × 300 |
| Vizio Quantum VQD75R-1004 | 65¾ × 37½ in, 3 in deep | 40½ in | 14 in | – | 44 lb | 400 × 300 |
From each maker’s spec page, checked October 2026. Samsung and LG figures are from their Canadian pages, which print the specs their US pages load by script (the US models carry a different code), converted from millimeters and kilograms; Vizio’s US pages list inches. Stand footprint is the stand’s full width, or the span of its two feet, where the maker lists it.
Width barely changes from brand to brand, under ½ in across all three, but weight does: the Vizio is 44 lb, the LG 73 lb and the Samsung 75 lb, which matters when you choose a wall mount. The class is rounded: Samsung lists its 75-inch QN90F at a 74.5 in diagonal and Vizio its VQD75R at 74.5 in viewable.
Will a 75-inch TV fit your wall and TV stand?
On a wall, a 75-inch TV takes about 66¼ × 38 in, about 5 ft 6 in by 3 ft 2 in. A 6-foot stretch of wall between a window and a corner holds it with a few inches to spare.
On furniture, the stand matters more than the screen. Some TVs stand on a center pedestal, others on two feet near the ends, and the feet decide the narrowest top that will hold the TV. Samsung’s QN90F has a 16½ in-wide pedestal. LG’s 75QNED85 has feet that fit in two positions, 53 in or 20½ in apart, so the same TV suits a long console or a narrower one. On their stands, these TVs need 11¾ to 14¼ in of depth.
How far to sit from a 75-inch TV
About 7.5 ft to 10.2 ft from your eyes to the screen. The near end is where a 75-inch screen fills about 40° of your view, the cinema-like size LG works out as distance ÷ 1.2 and THX as distance × 0.835. The far end, about 1.6 × the size, is about 30°, the angle SMPTE’s old cinema guideline set for the back row. A 75-inch is the size that suits 9 ft, a common sofa distance: there it fills about 34° of your view, between the two.
The TV size calculator works it out the other way, from your seat to the size that suits it.
How high to mount a 75-inch TV
With the center of the screen at 42 in, about seated eye height, the bottom of a 75-inch screen is 23½ in from the floor and the top 60½ in. That leaves little room for a console under it, so over furniture a 75-inch often hangs higher, with its center above 42 in. Our TV mounting height guide covers consoles and bedrooms, and how to mount a TV on the wall takes you through the mount itself.
75 vs 65 and 85-inch TVs
